Casual Monday

By request, me right now, and wearing the Silverwear necklace from my last entry. It's the state of the nation, folks, with attention to some lipcolor as I'm about to run some errands. Then I'll cook lunch, and catch up on the ironing.

I almost think I'm channeling my casual mystery dream girl clipping. She still hangs on my inspiration board. It works. It's not hard. Why don't I do it more often?

Navy cashmere v-neck, Pure Collection. Levis 512 bootcut jeans. Vintage silverware and pearl necklace, Silverwear by Marissa Saneholtz. Pearl earrings, gift from husband.

Welcome back! And Happy New Year to you! Great to see you blogging again. I should make wearing lipstick a new years resolution - I don't do it enough!

@Veshoevius - It's good to be back; you're definitely among those I've missed amid my year of quietude. I *must* wear lipstick in public, or folks will think I'm doing my own solo Zombie Walk.

@Marina - Thank you! It is a lovely piece and a pleasure to wear.

I have to be more lipstick conscious this year as that's what this year's preschool storytime children are noticing. "Your lipstick is wearing off" or "Is that lipstick you're wearing pink?" They first noticed on a day when I was wearing a brighter shade than usual and now miss it when I wear my more neutral shades. Some years, they're very jewelry conscious, and I'm challenged to wear something different every week.

@EAC - After a certain age, little kids do help keep us on our style toes. Fortunately, R. and N. so far tend to accentuate the positive by complimenting an effort (like when I pay attention to eyeshadow, Nick will say, I wike yo' EYES!), rather than calling me out for lack of effort.

They really are noticing and complimentary kids! Starting with sparkly jewelry when they were really tiny.

Hi Sarah, it was so great to hear from you. It seems you are back, that's exciting! How have you been? Your daughter must be in kindergarten now too, right? Isn't it wonderful? I know you still have your little son to take care of but I tell ya, when I only had to deal with one child it felt like a vacation, hee hee hee. You look as lovely as ever and I'm glad you have returned! XO, Jill
